INDUSTRIAL FIRES IN GREAT HARWOOD

Concerns have been raised by residents regarding regular fires from an industrial unit in Great Harwood which are causing considerable pollution and unpleasant smells. 

One resident, who asked not to be named, said, "This happens all the time and I feel for the poor households near the site, the air pollution must be horrendous. When the wind blows up towards me its terrible. How many regulations are they breaking?"

Another said, "This has been going on for years, why have the Great Harwood Councillors not tackled this yet?"

Following discussions, Hyndburn Borough Council has sought comment from the Environment Agency.
